Celebrate Arts in Education Week
The arts take center stage this week, as the nation celebrates the second annual Arts in Education Week. PSEA joins the nation in celebrating the importance of the arts in education.
On July 26, 2010, the U. S. House of Representatives passed a resolution designating the second week of September as Arts in Education Week to promote and showcase the immense role arts education has in producing engaged, successful, and college- and career-ready students.
Arts in Education Week supports arts education as instrumental to developing a well-rounded education such as creativity, imagination, and cross-cultural understanding. It highlights the critical link between those skills and preparing our children for gaining a competitive edge in the global economy.
PSEA recognizes the tremendous value of the arts. PSEA's Fine Arts Caucus is a group of fine and performing arts educators, patrons and advocates who lobby to keep arts education a vibrant, vital and required part of the curriculum for our nation's students, schools & communities.
