April is National Poetry Month

National Poetry MonthEach April, schools and communities take part in a national celebration marking poetry’s place in education, history, and culture. The Academy of American Poets established National Poetry Month in 1996. With the advice of educators and librarians across the country, the academy chose April as the best time within the school year to turn attention toward the art of poetry.
